I’m a big fan of a 7-inch tablets, which I think are more practical for everyday use than 10-inch models. That’s because the Galaxy Tab is small enough that apps simply blown up a little bit still fundamentally work.  If you take Android apps and scale them up for the Tab, the majority of them—Twitter, Facebook, Angry Birds—work perfectly.

The build (Android 4.0.1 alpha 1) is pretty close to the real deal but by no means is this official. Some of the features such as wifi, camera, bluetooth, autorotation and root are missing. But, if you can do without those, ICS is at your disposal.  All you’ll need to have is a rooted device and ability to flash a ROM. If this is foreign to you, avoid this because there is always the chance that it could do more harm than good. You’re probably better off just waiting  for Google to push out the official version of the update.

For those of you that are up to speed or for those of you that want to take the plunge, head here to get started.  And remember, you’re doing so at your own risk so please, be careful.
