Android updates released today!

Today again I have received Lolipop update of 770MB for lollipop whereas I have already updated to Marshmallow.

I was hoping 6.0.1 but it is still the same.

Where as Google Marshmallow 6.0 update has been launched for Samsung Galaxy S6 and S6 edge in European continent.

Verizon Droid Turbo 2 users, your time has come, because Verizon has finally decided to start rolling out the upgrade to Android 6.0 Marshmallow for the Turbo 2. Better late than never, but still later than Motorola’s own update for the Moto X Pure Edition.

While the Marshmallow update for the AT&T One M9 remains in a holding pattern due to some complications, the T-Mobile One M9 is full speed ahead, with its Marshmallow OTA starting this coming Tuesday, February 16th. This is all according to the ever reliable (but not infallible), Mo Versi of HTC.

The Sony Xperia phones have yet to receive the Android 6.0 Marshmallow update but it's believed to be arriving soon. Why, the company just rolled out the Xperia Beta Program to select users, hoping to fix the errors and squash more bugs before the official public release. This Xperia Beta Program is similar to the beta testing program Samsung launched initially for Galaxy devices.

Note that this 'Xperia Beta Program' is very much different from the 'Concept for Android' program. But like the latter, this program is only available in a few countries and for three Sony Xperia models only: Xperia Z2, Xperia Z3, and Xperia Z3 Compact. Countries that are eligible to try the program are the Netherlands, Spain, and Italy. According to Sony, the Concept for Android is more of an experimental consumer driven software while the Xperia Beta Program is the quality beta test of the official software.

We assumed the latest and greatest smart watches would be first in line for Android 6.0 Marshmallow, but it seems owners of one of the original premium smart watches are ahead of the pack. The 1st Gen Moto G seems to be getting a widespread rollout starting today.
